Inclement Weather & Emergency Closure Policy

The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority. Severe weather or emergency situations may require changes to program operations.

Center Closures

  1. If all Rhode Island public schools are closed due to inclement weather, our program will also be closed.

  2. This includes closures due to winter storms, severe weather, or state-wide emergency conditions.

Before/ After School Program

– Delays

  • If Rhode Island public schools have a delayed opening, our program will remain open.

  • Program hours may be adjusted to best support students and families.

– Early Dismissals

  • If schools dismiss early due to weather or emergency conditions, our program will remain open.

  • Pickup times will be adjusted individually for each child based on dismissal times and family needs.

  • In certain situations, even if schools remain open, the program may adjust hours or close independently due to safety concerns such as road conditions, power outages, or facility issues.

Evening Taekwondo Classes

  • If the center is closed due to extreme weather or an emergency situation, all evening Taekwondo classes will also be closed.

  • In all other situations, evening Taekwondo classes will remain open and operate as scheduled.

Independent Program Decisions

  • The program reserves the right to adjust hours or close independently if conditions are determined to be unsafe, including but not limited to severe road conditions, power outages, or facility concerns.

Communication

  • Families are encouraged to monitor local news and school announcements during severe weather events.

Emergency Situations

This policy applies to both weather-related and non-weather-related emergencies, including but not limited to power outages, building safety concerns, or public safety emergencies.
